Chris has been birdwatching in Hertfordshire for over thirty years and has been the BTO Regional Representative for the county since 1993.
In this role he has organised survey work, including managing the introduction and growth of the BTO/RSPB/JNCC Breeding Bird Survey.
As the chairman of the Herts Bird Club Scientific Committee he helps to ensure that the programme of bird monitoring is balanced with the available manpower.
He participated as the TL41 square co-ordinator for the 1988-92 county atlas and as one of the authors of The Breeding Birds of Hertfordshire was
responsible for the production of the distribution maps. Chris contributes regularly to the Herts Bird Report and is an active member of the Rye Meads
Ringing Group and the North Thames Gull Group.

Steve has been interested in birds for as long as he can remember and enjoys birding within the county. He has been on the Herts Bird Club
Scientific Committee for 3 years and has coordinated two county population surveys for Grey Partridge and Sand Martin within that time. He has taken part
in a number Hertfordshire bird surveys, including the previous Bird Atlas and has recently become involved with the county Bird Report. One of his
particular interestes in Ornithology is bird population dynamics and he is therefore keen to involve himself in bird surveys. Currently Steve is studying
part time with University of Birmingham to obtain MSc in Ornithology.

John has been birding since the age of 8 and has travelled widely to see and study birds particularly in Europe, the Middle East and
Asia with a total of 4 months spent in Israel alone. He was Square Co-ordinator for TL01 in the 1988-92 County Atlas and contributed to the published work.
He has been a regular survey contributor since then, including a Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) plot since 1997.

Colin has been recording birds and other wildlife in Hertfordshire for more than 20 years and surveyed several tetrads for the 1988-92 atlas.
A regular writer for the Herts Bird Report over the past decade, he has also contributed the site gazetteer which appears in recent editions of the report.
He has worked for several organisations including Scottish Natural Heritage and the bird observatory network. He is currently the Assistant Recorder
for Birds in Hertfordshire.

Read biography
Rupert started birdwatching in 1967, and has been a Herts birder since he moved to the county in November 1995.
He has undertaken survey work as a volunteer for the RSPB at Radipole Lake and Lodmoor, and has participated in local census
work for a number of years, including BBS and the recent Green Sandpiper survey.
He was recently appointed the co-ordinator for TL20 where he regularly visits his patches around Brookmans Park,
North Mymms Park, Hatfield Park and Essendon.
